Connection of Home Youth Program

When a loved one is gone, children experience and show their grief in different ways.

The Connection of Home Youth Program focuses on providing mentorship and support to grieving youth between the ages of 11 and 18. Through carefully matched one-on-one mentorship relationships, we aim to create a safe and nurturing environment where young individuals can find solace, guidance, and friendship.

Trained mentors offer consistent support, actively listening to mentees experiences and providing compassionate guidance as they navigate their grief and loss. Additionally, group activities such as workshops, outings, and community service projects create opportunities for youth to connect with others who have gone through similar experiences, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

How children experience grief is not always obvious from their reactions. From emotional outbursts to returning to the comfort of familiar activities, children often experience grief in bursts and will need ongoing support to learn coping techniques.

Our staff is trained in the emotional needs of children and can provide age-level groups and individualized support to your family.

2gather we're Connected Adult Program:

Helping a child who is grieving a loss can be demanding for a parent who is also grieving themselves.

The 2gather we're Connected Adult Program is dedicated to supporting families who are struggling with grief and loss. Recognizing the critical role of parents and caregivers in the healing process, this program provides one-on-one mentorship and support to families as they navigate their journey of grief together. Trained volunteers establish mentorship relationships with families, offering a listening ear, emotional support, and practical guidance. Through these relationships, families can access a network of caring individuals who understand their unique challenges. The program also provides resources, educational workshops, and activities designed to build resilience, develop coping skills, and strengthen family connections.
